our experience
Broadcasting History
Jonny and Kevin met in the Christmas 2006 at 103 The Eye – the UK’s first community radio station to go live. Kevin wrote, produced and presented the Sunday business programme, which concentrated on interviews with local business people and trying to tease out their success factors.
Meanwhile, Jonny produced and presented the prime time Drive show every weekday. – A fast paced show, which required significant versatility and technical know how. Jonny has also appeared as a guest on BBC Radio Leicester and has reported with Traffic and Travel News on 105.4 Leicester Sound as well as being a generic request voice for Music Control.
They joined forces in March 2007 to script, produce and present a radically different show that was family orientated and involved local school children – the aim of the show was to promote the positive image of young people - proving that not all young people are 'Hooded Theives' or 'Criminals'.
The show ran for 14 weeks and included upwards of 90 different individual contributors. Both left The Eye radio station in July 2007 to start JK media. Our first assignment with JK Media was for BBC Local Radio – interviews with local dignitaries regarding plans for a new bypass. It ran within BBC News on Saturday and Sunday July 14/15th.
We work for the Melton Times on a weekly basis producing a podcast which is available from the Melton Times website, www.meltontimes.co.uk/meltontimespodcast.
